Gigantic scoops regional retail award

UK ticket agency Gigantic has been named Retail Business of the Year in a major regional awards ceremony.

Gigantic beat off online and high street rivals to scoop one of the 13 prizes on offer at the 2017 Nottingham Post Business Awards. The company was also on the shortlist for the International Trade Award.

Judges were directed to select a winner that has achieved measurable results and build upon their reputation for retail excellence. They also considered the contribution the business has made to the economic stability of the Nottinghamshire region.

Gigantic works with many of the country’s biggest promoters, festivals and venues including Live Nation, Wembley Stadium and the Reading & Leeds Festivals.

Founder Mark Gasson said: “Ten years on, we continue to trade, grow and thrive within an extremely competitive industry, so this award is a lovely recognition for all of our hard work.

“Nottingham’s business scene is booming and the tough competition across all categories support this success. Awards like these give recognition to independent businesses like Gigantic and what our great city has to offer.”

The other shortlisted companies included The Workplace Depot, an industrial supplies provider, and The Amazing Chocolate Workshop.

Nigel Wheatley, general manager for award sponsor Intu Nottingham, said: “It was great to see the work Gigantic are doing to help establish the city as an event destination on a local and national scale.”
