Spectra expands US college portfolio

Spectra has expanded its reach in the US college market by signing deals with the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the University of Houston.

Through the deals, both UMass Amherst and Houston will leverage Spectra’s ticketing and access-management functionality.

UMass’ American football stadium has a 17,000-capacity, while the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium (pictured) boasts a 40,000-seat venue for its football team.

UMass previously used Spectra’s marketing automation platform powered by FanOne Marketing, as well as the company’s industry-specific implementation of CRM since May 2016. Houston will also use both services.

Spectra will provide both colleges with its ticketing and e-commerce platform to simplify the selling of tickets to all events in real time through an integrated website and online box office.

UMass’ Paciolan platform and the UHCougars website will enable fans and students to manage their accounts online, transfer tickets and print tickets at home, or deliver tickets to their mobile device to scan upon entry at events.

Additionally, both schools will use Spectra’s digital-ticketing solution for access control to allow fans to bypass will-call lines and enter events quickly via print-at-home or mobile 2D barcode tickets.

Spectra has connected with more than 120 colleges throughout North America, including eight of the 13 schools in the American Athletic Conference.

“We are proud to partner with a thought-leading athletic department in University of Houston and provide integrated, fan-friendly services for another American Athletic Conference institution,” said Kim Damron, president of Spectra.

“Our goal as the leading provider of services in college athletics is to ensure our partners leverage industry-leading and innovative technology that benefits fans, donors and students while enhancing every experience and interaction.”
