Live Nation set for Harry Styles boost in 2018

Live Nation’s performance is set to head in one direction next year as Harry Styles’ world tour switches from “intimate” venues to major global arenas.

The former One Direction star has added 56 new show dates in 2018 to his sold-out world tour, with tickets to go on sale through local ticket agents next Friday (June 16).

Live Nation said Fan Registration for the North American and European tour dates is available now through Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan programme.

The freshly added dates will begin in March 2018 in Basel, Switzerland and will conclude in Los Angeles, CA in July. Stop offs include the UK, continental Europe, the US, Canada, Japan, South America and Australasia.

Verified Fan

Styles is touring relatively small venues this year, with the first leg of Harry Styles Live On Tour, which sold out in record time, to kick off in September. Ticketmaster last month said it would investigate all suspicious ticket purchases for this year’s dates in an open letter to fans who claimed they had been unable to compete with scalpers when tickets went on sale last week. It said Verified Fan helped to ensure 95 per cent of tickets were secured by real fans.

The European tour kicks off in October, with two dates in London at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, which has a capacity of just 5,000. Next year’s dates include two concerts at The O2, as well as performances at the Manchester Arena, Genting Arena and SSE Hydro.

Similarly, Styles will this year play the 2,750 Moody Theatre in Austin, Texas, before switching to the state’s 20,000-seat American Airlines Arena and 18,000-seat Toyota Center next year. The iconic 20,000-seat Madison Square Garden in New York is another venue on next year’s schedule.
