Fake wristbands were found being sold for Parklife, the two-day music festival in Manchester, as event officials urged people not to swap their tickets until they were at the festival gate.
Fraudsters within Manchester city centre and around Heaton Park, where the festival is based, were reportedly exchanging fake wristbands for official tickets.
Parklife officials tweeted: “Please DO NOT exchange tickets for wristbands unless at the official gates. Fraudsters are operating outside the gates.”
Metrolink bosses followed the message with another warning tweet: “We are hearing of people selling fake @Parklifefest wristbands near Heaton Park. Don’t get fooled!”
Parklife saw tens of thousands of festival-goers show up at Heaton Park over the course of the weekend.
