ATPI Group offers two UCFB students placements with new partnership

ATPI Group, a travel management and events company, has signed an on-going partnership with UCFB, the higher education provider specialising in university degrees in the football, sports and events industries inside and around Wembley Stadium, London and the Etihad Stadium, Manchester.

Under the agreement, ATPI will offer work placements to select students to experience a career in the sports travel sector.

ATPI Sports Events is one of the world’s fastest growing events businesses with specialist teams delivering travel, events, corporate hospitality, ticketing, branding and sponsorship activation for leading events and sports brands around the world.

Two placements kicked off the partnership, with students Lily Wells and Marcin Chmielewski working in the marketing and event management sector.

Wells and Chmielewski are studying for degrees in stadium and events management, and football business and marketing respectively at UCFB Wembley.

The students followed structured assignments exploring the awareness of duty of care within the sports sector.

Kate Suddards, head of sports at ATPI Sports Events, said: “By collaborating closely with specialist colleges and universities across the UK we hope to help students cement their course learning and, for those that thrive during their placement, provide invaluable opportunities to join one of the fastest growing brands in the sports travel and events industry.

“We have every confidence that the practical experience Lily and Marcin have gained with us will aid them to excel in their pursuit of a career in sports events management. We very much look forward to extending this opportunity to more students in the future.”

The company has been involved with management at events such as the Champions League final and Premier League pre-season tours.

ATPI Sports Events is the global official hospitality agency for the 2017-18 edition of the Volvo Ocean Race, and is also the official ticket & travel agent for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
