Gateway Ticketing Systems, the ticketing software and admission control provider for the leisure industry, has appointed Matthew Hoenstine as destinations principal.
Hoenstine, who has worked in the industry for two decades, is tasked with providing strategic and project planning services to Gateway clients.
Hoenstine joins Pennsylvania-based Gateway from Universal Orlando Resort where he worked in a wide range of roles including pricing and analytics manager, business systems improvement manager and assistant director of product development.
He currently serves on the finance and technology committee of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA).
“Matthew has lived and breathed destinations operations over the course of his career. He’s equally adept at strategies to enhance the guest experience as he is at operational issues such as fraud mitigation and product pricing,” said Don Eash, Gateway’s executive vice-president and chief operating officer.
“Matthew understands how to best utilise technology to improve business operations. He is a true asset not only to us but to all the customers and other destination attractions that will work with him.”
Gateway provides strategic consultation, sales, service and support for point-of-sale and ticketing systems worldwide. The company works with the full range of leisure attractions and services from theme parks, waterparks, tours and zoos to aquariums, museums and historic sites.
Earlier this year it was announced that Gateway is to provide revenue management and CRM solutions to Bristol’s Brunel’s SS Great Britain.
Gateway’s Galaxy Product Suite is used by hundreds of destinations to integrate ticketing, admission control, resource management, group sales, online ticketing sales, retail, food and beverage, and membership management.
