Rapper Mist has been named the fastest-growing concert draw of 2017 by live guide and ticketing site Ents24.
The Ents24 Rising list only includes artists that it has started to track in the past year. 2,514 new artists have been added to Ents24’s listings this year so far, as well as 2,143 venues and 168,371 events.
Birmingham-born Mist has become a social media sensation, racking up more than 280,000 followers on Instagram, and has been hailed by established acts such as Stormzy.
He has already sold out two UK tours, and was tipped as a breakthrough artist for 2017 by influential magazines such as Fact Magazine. He will this summer appear at Lovebox 2017, as well as the prestigious Leeds and Reading festivals.
“The Ents24 Rising list is based on the artists our users have chosen to track, demonstrating which new acts people are genuinely interested in seeing live,” said Ents24’s Adam Brooks.
“Unlike a panel-based list or a public vote, the list represents the acts whose shows inspire real excitement in fans, and a reliable snapshot of artists destined for success.”
Ents24 users have been tracking artists since 2005, to be notified when a tour, festival appearance, presale or competition is announced. Artists and venues have received over 5.5 million tracks to date – with a new one added every few seconds.
Mist said: “Whenever I make a record in the studio I always visualise performing it and how people will react when I’m on stage. To be No.1 on the Rising list is a huge honour for me. I’ve already sold out two tours in the UK and cannot wait for my third.”
