LA Galaxy unveils new fan experience mobile app

Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise LA Galaxy says it wants to enhance fan experience through the launch of a new mobile app developed by its official digital technology partner, GlobalLogic.

The LA Galaxy App, available on iOS and Android devices, will give supporters access to ticketing, concessions and merchandise features as well as team news, statistics and highlights.

In unveiling the platform, the MLS club said it has partnered with digital ticketing marketplace Flash Seats, which will be integrated and enabled with the team’s official ticket resale partner StubHub in the new app.

In doing so, fans can scan in with a mobile device upon entry to the StubHub Center without paper tickets. Supporters will also be able to manage their LA Galaxy season ticket membership inventory, post tickets directly to StubHub, and transfer tickets to others until the start time of each event.

Shashank Samant, chief executive of GlobalLogic said: “More than ever, innovative organisations are harnessing the power of digital platforms to engage customers and create a more enjoyable and personalised experience.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with the LA Galaxy to design and build this platform to enhance fan experience on game day and beyond.”

LA Galaxy’s partnership with Tapin2 provides fans with the option to order food and drink from their phones and have it delivered to their seats. Additionally, the app lets people pre-order food and beverages for express pick-up at the Rock & Brews stand on the Southeast corner of the concourse.

Merchandise can also be bought on the app and delivered to fans in their seats at the StubHub Center. In addition, the LA Galaxy Foundation will have digital auctions in which supporters could win experiences or autographed memorabilia and prizes.

“Mobile ordering will allow the Galaxy to sell more concessions and merchandise to a wider audience,” said Jordan Syms, senior vice president of marketing at Tapin2.

“Our partnership with the Galaxy turns fans’ mobile phones into remote controls to upgrade their game day experience.”
