Dallas Cowboys account for 12% of NFL ticket sales on StubHub

Dallas Cowboys remain the biggest draw in NFL according to figures released at the start of the new season by StubHub.

Cowboys, who play at the 105,000-capacity AT&T Stadium, are just ahead of New England Patriots, who have moved up one place from 2016. The rankings are based on total sales for each team through the ticketing platform.

Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers both edge up to third and fourth respectively, while Denver Broncos move back in to the top 10 for the first time since 2015.

Cowboys and Patriots hold a significant lead over other teams when it comes to total ticket sales this year. Dallas have a 105 per cent lead and New England have a 46 per cent lead in ticket sales over Green Bay.

StubHub said: “While the reigning Super Bowl champions, Patriots, are gaining momentum in demand at #2 having seen a 44 per cent rise in ticket demand on StubHub over the last three seasons – from 2014 to 2016, Dallas maintains the #1 spot on the list of most in-demand teams when it comes to sales for this season so far, accounting for 12 per cent of all NFL ticket sales this season on StubHub.”

New York Giants dropped from second place in 2016 down to sixth in the ranking, however their opener at the Cowboys this weekend is currently the most in-demand game on StubHub.

Minnesota Vikings have seen the biggest rise in demand since 2014, with a spike of 129 per cent. StubHub believes the rise has been driven by the interest in the team’s new 66,000-capacity U.S. Bank Stadium.
