SquadUp appoints Diego Carlin as CRO

SquadUp has brought in former Wantickets chief executive Diego Carlin to take over as its new chief revenue officer.

Carlin served as senior director of strategy at Eventbrite until earlier this year and was previously employed as the head of Wantickets.

Carlin will oversee SquadUp’s business development strategy and focus on a number of new strategic initiatives.

SquadUp is a mobile first and white label ticketing, event management and audience engagement technology solutions provider.

“Diego is a thoughtful and proven executive with years of industry experience. He has worked closely with the largest event organisers in the world and brings a wide range of skills to SquadUp,” said Willie Litvack, founder and chief executive of SquadUp.

“He possesses a profound understanding of our industry and he will contribute to our expanding service options and business development. We are thrilled to have Diego join our team.”

California-headquartered SquadUp provides software to more than 600 customers including The New Yorker, American City Business Journals and The New York City Wine and Food Festival.

“Working directly with customers and holding high level positions with two of the largest ticketing companies in the world, has given me a unique vantage point on the industry,” said Carlin. “In examining available software solutions, I was blown away by the SquadUP offering. The company’s focus on white labeling and mobile technologies is far ahead of the curve and I’m excited to help this young company bring their solution to a broader market.”

Carlin and fellow former Wantickets executive Barak Schurr left Eventbrite in May, less than a year after joining the company.
