Ticket operators offer Black Friday bargains

Ticketing operators are getting in on the Black Friday act with many of London’s West End’s most popular show offering up to half price tickets.

An American in Paris, Kinky Boots, Venus in Fur and Thriller Live are all offering tickets for £20 ($26.65/€22.45) and under in the Black Friday promotions, with Tony Award-winning show Annie costing only £21.95. The average ticket price for a West End show in 2016 was almost £50, with some seats costing over £100.

Black Friday is an informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the US, which has been regarded as the beginning of the country’s Christmas shopping season since 1952. In recent years it has become a major shopping event across the world.

Some of the biggest UK comedy tours are also jumping on the Black Friday bandwagon, with 50 per cent off tickets to see Bill Bailey (pictured), Ed Byrne, Jason Manford, John Bishop, John Robins, Jonathan Pie, Omid Djalili and Milton Jones.

Ticket sellers internationally are also looking to boost sales, with Cricket South Africa getting in on the action and offering 50 per cent off select tickets to this summer’s international domestic matches.

Tickets available for promotion will include RAM SLAM T20 Challenge round-robin phase, Zimbabwe and India Test matches.
