Guns N’ Roses voted UK Ticket of the Year

American rock band Guns N’ Roses has been named UK Ticket of the Year 2017 following Ticketmaster’s poll of fans.

The rock legends’ two London Stadium shows were voted as the best live event in the UK over the past year.

U2’s Twickenham gig gave the winners some stiff competition and came in second place, while Download Festival in Donington Park was third.

London continues to be the most popular city for live entertainment in the UK, followed by Glasgow and Manchester.

The biggest names in rock music have dominated the UK’s top spots with the inaugural Scottish TRNSMT festival, the famous Download Festival, and legendary bands Metallica and U2 completing the top five tickets of 2017.

Globally, the poll shows British music reigning supreme, with Coldplay taking the top spot in the Ticket of the Year list.

The Chris Martin-led band’s ‘Head Full of Dreams’ tour has been witnessed by a staggering 5.4 million fans since it kicked off, and became the third highest grossing global tour of all time. Coldplay were also named Global Ticket of the Year in 2016.

Ed Sheeran takes second place with his tour notching Ticketmaster Europe’s busiest day, selling over one million tickets.

The UK’s most anticipated events for 2018 include the Foo Fighters, Ed Sheeran and P!nk concerts.
