Eventbrite has boosted its management team with the appointment of two new executives.
Omer Cohen has joined the ticketing and event technology platform as chief people officer with Brian Irving arriving as chief brand officer.
Former Apple and Google executive Irving will be leading a cross-functional effort to codify the company’s global brand strategy, storytelling, and positioning in the market.
Irving joins Eventbrite with two decades of experience building and marketing iconic global brands. He also previously served as co-chief marketing officer and vice president of global digital marketing for Levi Strauss & Co.
Irving said: “What attracted me to Eventbrite is the power of the platform which brings millions of people together for live experiences every year.
“The stories of these transformative moments are so inspirational and relatable. We all remember that feeling we got when we went to our first concert or were surrounded by people that share our same passions.”
Cohen will be responsible for the growth, development and evolution of Eventbrite’s global team of ‘Britelings’, and company culture. He brings over 25 years of both operational leadership and organisational development experience to the company, and has worked at high-tech firms Lytro and DigitalThink.
The two senior additions come just after Eventbrite’s growing prominence was illustrated by its joining the Internet Association alongside major tech firms such as Google, Facebook and Uber.
“Building a global brand that people love and a global community that amplifies our values is paramount to our mission of bringing the world together through live experiences,” said Julia Hartz, co-founder and chief executive of Eventbrite.
“Coming off a banner year of growth and momentum, we have a massive opportunity as we look ahead to 2018, but the destination is only a part of our end goal. How we get there – as both an organisation and a brand – is critically important and I can’t think of two better leaders than Brian and Omer to help us achieve success in this journey.”
