Today (6 February) marks 100 years since the first women won the right to vote in the UK. The landmark moment steered us onto the path to equality, but – even with 100 years of progress under our belts – we’ve still a long way to go.
This year, TheTicketingBusiness delivers the sixth edition of TheTicketingBusiness Forum on 17-18 April at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, UK.
The Forum attracts 500+ of the world’s ticketing business leaders for two days of debate, discussion and decision about the future of live entertainment ticketing.
But there’s a problem.
Although we know there is a wide and varied pool of talented women in live entertainment ticketing, and although we know our industry has collectively campaigned (successfully) over the years to address the gender imbalance – despite our efforts – our conference line up is not indicative of such a balanced sector.
We want to change that.
To address the issue in 2017, we launched an incentive offering complimentary passes for ‘new female faces’, drawing worldwide nominations for leading women who should represent at the Forum. As a result, we saw a huge increase in female attendance and will continue to drive that into the future.
But we won’t stop there.
Where it was fantastic to have a more balanced attendance last year, this year we turn to you (our network of some 30,000 ticketing professionals) to help us to deliver a more balanced speaking panel.
We invite nominations for the female leaders of ticketing that have something to say, something to share, and should be owning our stage on 17-18 April.
