Airbnb to accommodate Insider.in customers

Airbnb has joined forces with events ticketing platform Insider.in in India to provide customers with a simple solution to finding accommodation near venues.

After tickets are purchased for an event on Insider.in, customers will be presented with a box saying “Need a place to stay?” When this is clicked on it will allow the ticket buyer to browse for accommodation close to the event venue.

“Over the years, we’ve seen considerable interest in events – especially major ones – from people outside the city of the event. And as we go about aiming to make everything around an event great for the customer, an association with Airbnb made natural sense,” said Shreyas Srinivasan, founder and chief executive of Insider.in, according to Everything Experiential.

“An excellent example is the current edition of the Indian Premier League. We are ticketing matches for franchises DD (in Delhi) and Kings XI Punjab (in Mohali and Indore). For both teams, we have received considerable traffic from people outside the respective cities, and several of those fans even write to us asking if we can help provide accommodation.”

Insider.in also provides tickets for India’s largest music festival, Bacardi NH7 Weekender, whose flagship events happen in Pune and Shillong; with several other editions (including one-day Express Editions) in other cities all over the country.

“From the moment dates are announced, we have festival attendees looking for stay options in the city. Letting fans seamlessly book an accommodation of not only their choice and budget, but also one that adds to their experience  – for which Airbnb has unparalleled choice – is the next logical step,” added Srinivasan.

Amanpreet Bajaj, country manager of Airbnb India, said: “At Airbnb, our philosophy is centred on creating unique travel experiences by offering our users alternate options to break away from standard itineraries and see the world on their own terms.

“We are thrilled to partner with Insider.in and look forward to invite many more Indians to experience the value that Airbnb can add to their travel.”
