Taylor Swift tops summer ticket sales tally

Taylor Swift has notched this summer’s highest total ticket sales on StubHub, unseating U2 who topped the list as last year’s top-selling act.

Swift has outsold The Eagles with her 25 shows to their 12 dates, with the star’s ticket sales reaching 40 per cent higher than the American rock band.

Average ticket prices for Swift’s concerts sat at $209, marking a 21 per cent drop since her 1989 Tour in 2015.

Meanwhile, StubHub’s highest sales-per-show was Ed Sheeran, marking his strongest demand since he started touring. He nearly tripled the per-show ticket sales of Swift, who comes in at No.6 on a per-show basis.

The Eagles account for three of the five most in-demand show dates this summer, including the No.1 most in-demand concert of summer for their Denver show at Coors Field.

The veteran American rock band also boast the most affordable of the top 10 shows this summer with a get-in price as low as $56 on StubHub.

UK popstar Sam Smith entered StubHub’s top sales list for the first time with his The Thrill of It All Tour.
