Overwatch League 2018 has sold out New York’s 20,000 Barclays Center for the inaugural Grand Finals.
The venue will be full to capacity, according to Overwatch owner Blizzard Entertainment, making the event the most successful esports event to be held at the home of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.
“We knew the Overwatch League had amazing, enthusiastic fans, but this is something else,” said Commissioner Nat Nanzer. “We’re incredibly excited to play to a packed house at the home of the world’s premier sports and entertainment arenas.”
Tickets went on sale on May 18 and closed last week, with all 20,000 tickets being snapped up for the Grand Finals.
The Overwatch League Grand Finals takes place on July 27-28 in New York City.
The event will be streamed live from Barclays Center on Twitch, OverwatchLeague.com and the Overwatch League app, and on MLG.com.
Winners will take home a share of $1.4m prize pool and the Overwatch League trophy.
