Derbyshire hits record sales for T20 Blast

Derbyshire Falcons cricket team has achieved record ticket sales for its upcoming Twenty20 Blast campaign after surpassing last year’s numbers by 30 per cent.

The Vitality Blast, which kicks off on July 6 between Derbyshire and Lancashire Lightening, has seen unprecedented demand for tickets to The 3aaa County Ground.

Last year, Derbyshire welcomed more than 24,000 spectators, and advanced sales ahead of this year show demand is continuing to rise.

The league consists of the 18 first-class county teams divided into two divisions of nine teams each with fixtures played between July and September.

Seventy per cent of tickets have been shifted for the local derby against Yorkshire Vikings, taking place at the Queen’s Park in Chesterfield.

The East Midlands derby against reigning champions Nottinghamshire Outlaws on July 13 is already at 50 per cent capacity.

Cricket fans are being urged to buy their tickets early to save money and secure a place.
