GiggedIn benefits from Messenger chatbot

Ticketing startup GiggedIn has added 10,000 Facebook Messenger contacts in just three months since launching its chatbot.

The Sydney-based subscription platform, currently pursuing a AUD$1m funding round, offers access to music events, clubs, comedy nights and cinemas.

After being founded in 2013 GiggedIn focussed on product until the start of this year since when it has turned its attention to marketing. According to StartupSmart, its userbase has grown by 20 per cent month-on-month to a total of 22,000.

Founder and chief executive Edwin Onggo, who helped the company secure AUD $500,000 in seed funding in 2015, told StartupSmart the mission is to “enrich people’s lives through shared experiences.”

Speaking about the chatbot, he said: “We’re able to create different sequences or flows, if members message in and display interest to one specific thing.

“We’re able to send them communications based on the interests they’ve displayed.”

“We’re doubling down on the marketing, and accelerating the trajectory. It’s the strategy that’s proven to be repeatable and effective”.
