Spain’s LaLiga has signed an extension deal with El Corte Inglés for the department store to begin selling tickets for both first and second division matches.
The move is part of a wider deal between the two organisations in which a renewed sponsorship agreement has been signed.
The three-year extension deal will see El Corte Inglés continue to have a wide-ranging presence throughout both leagues at matches within LaLiga.
El Corte Inglés would become the first operator to sell tickets in both LaLiga divisions.
The ticketing that El Corte Inglés is now undertaking for La Liga is said to have “an advanced multi-channel sales system that incorporates the best technological and user experience properties.”
In addition, Viajes El Corte Inglés is already the official travel agency of La Liga and the chain’s shopping centres will market official products of La Liga and host social and public events related to the national league championship.
