The Los Angeles Chargers NFL American football franchise has extended a partnership with Ticketmaster.

The company will serve as the Chargers’ official primary and secondary ticketing partner and will also aim to deliver an enhanced mobile experience for fans.

The two parties have been partners since 2002, but the length of the contract extension was not disclosed.

In 2017, Ticketmaster and the NFL expanded and extended a partnership, paving the way for a league-wide digital ticketing system.

“The Chargers have always placed an emphasis on putting the fan first, and the extension of this partnership helps us do just that,” the Chargers’ vice-president of ticket sales and services, Todd Poulsen, said. “Ticketmaster’s technology has proven to be the best and most reliable in the business, and we’re excited for our next chapter together.”

Ticketmaster’s chief commercial officer and head of sports for North America, Greg Economou, added: “Ticketmaster is a longstanding partner of the Chargers and we’re proud to continue that partnership in our hometown of Los Angeles.

“The Chargers have continued to show time and time again just how much they value improving the fan experience. With a deeper, more enriched mobile experience, Los Angeles Chargers fans will now be able to use the best technology on game day.”
