Gwen Stefani’s Vegas residency earns $5.5m

Gwen Stefani has brought in $5.5m from ticket sales of her opening 12-show Las Vegas residency run.

Her “Just a Girl” residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood launched with gigs on June 27, 29 and 30. Stefani performed three shows in each of the following three weeks, closing with a concert on July 21.

The popstar sold 40,514 tickets, which is more than 84 per cent of capacity, at prices ranging from $80 to $280, according to reports from Caesars Entertainment, which produced the event with Live Nation, VenuesNow reports.

Stefani joins Jennifer Lopez, Backstreet Boys, Lionel Richie and Florida Georgia Line as a resident artist at the performance venue this year.

The first resident at Zappos Theater was Britney Spears in 2013 with her “Piece of Me” show, which wrapped at the end of 2017 after 248 dates.

Stefani’s production debuted with 25 dates booked through next spring, with a look to return in December for a four-show run leading up to New Year’s Eve. The three-time Grammy Award winner will then resume on February 2019 for nine shows through March 16.
