InsideNoVa, a regional news service based in Northern Virginia, has launched an online ticketing platform for local events and organisations.
InsideNoVaTix will give event organisers local support and exposure across InsideNoVa, which attracts an audience of nearly 500,000 unique visitors a month.
The platform will seek to become a “one-stop shop” for goings-on in Northern Virginia, with weekly email newsletters to feature major events in the region.
InsideNoVaTix will offer “all the functionality of the major ticketing websites” and provide an outlet for concerts, plays and festivals, classes, seminars, fundraisers, summer camps and other activities.
InsideNoVa publisher Bruce Potter said: “We know that a major reason local residents turn to InsideNoVa is to learn about events and activities in their community. InsideNoVaTix builds a deeper connection between our readers and the many organisations with which we work to help promote their events and activities.”
The new service will be promoted through print and digital advertising, social media posts and weekly newsletters. Organisations that use InsideNoVaTix will also be given access to a simple interface to create and update events, and immediate payouts on ticket sales, with lower-than-average credit card processing fees.
