New Skiddle app offers personalised experience

Event guide and ticketing agent Skiddle has released an updated mobile app that seeks to provide fans with a more personalised experience.

Speaking to Prolific North, Skiddle’s co-founder and technical director Ben Sebborn said the new offering will make Skiddle stand out among fellow ticketing apps.

“The overhaul of the Skiddle app is our most significant to date and we’re delighted to roll out this bespoke selection of updates to our customers,” Sebborn told Prolific North.

“Typically, ticketing apps exist to sell tickets rather than act as an event discovery experience. This significantly hampers user participation and limits exposure to a fantastic range of gigs, club nights and festivals.

“We have turned the experience on its head, greeting customers at the start of their journey, exposing them to relevant and exciting events and acting as a one-stop shop: event guide, discovery platform and ticketing outlet.”

Prolific North notes that the new app will suggest specific events and artists to users and will be altogether more intelligent than the previous service. The app’s homepage will also be tailored to the user’s own tastes.

Sebborn added: “This update incorporates a vast range of bespoke features, with every aspect of the homepage personalised to the user’s unique tastes and ticket purchasing history. We have also paid attention to user reviews and suggestions, developing features such as bookmarking and saving events, Facebook integration and event suggestions for special occasions.

“We are incredibly excited to be at the forefront of app innovation and development and we are looking forward to the response to this latest roll-out.”
