Users of the new Samsung Galaxy Home smart speaker can make bookings with Ticketmaster without even downloading the company’s app.
An enhanced version of Samsung’s Bixby assistant allows users to purchase tickets or ask questions about live events and availability through a streamlined conversation.
Samsung also noted it was working with these partners so users can more easily take actions. For instance, instead of saying “buy a ticket on Ticketmaster” they could just say “buy a ticket.”
The enhanced, more conversational Bixby service is also available for movie ticketing platform Fandango, as well as Yelp, Uber, OpenTable and Google Maps.
Samsung used Ticketmaster as an example of its improved service when unveiling its new Galaxy Home smart speaker. The company also showcased its new Galaxy Note 9 smartphone that goes on sale on August 24.
Samsung is entering a growing smart speaker market. Amazon shipped four million of its Echo speakers in Q1 2018, while Google shipped 2.4 million Google Home devices, according to an estimate by researcher Strategy Analytics.
