Italian Serie A football club AC Milan has seen season ticket sales drop to around 30,000 for the 2018-19 campaign.
The club sold around 31,000 season tickets last year and the latest figures place it second in Serie A, behind cross-city rival Inter Milan.
Both clubs share the 80,000-seat San Siro stadium. According to the WorldFootball website, Inter and AC Milan attracted an average of 57,529 and 52,690 fans per game respectively last season.
Napoli had the next highest average attendance at 43,050, with Juventus attracting an average of 38,948 fans per game. Juventus’ Allianz Stadium has a capacity of 41,000, which is lower than the San Siro, as well as Rome’s Stadio Olimpico (70,000) and Napoli’s Stadio San Paolo (54,000).
AC Milan’s season ticket sales for last season and the new campaign mark a significant increase on 2016-17, when the club sold just 16,000. That season, the club’s average attendance was just 40,294.
