Cable viewers can find Ticketmaster tickets via TV

US music fans will soon be able to find tour dates and request concert tickets through their TVs thanks to Ticketmaster’s integration with Comcast.

This integration launches with Kelly Clarkson and her 2019 ‘Meaning of Life’ tour.

Comcast Xfinity X1 customers can simply say “Kelly Clarkson Tour” into their Voice Remote to take advantage of a special presale window and see a list of Clarkson’s local performance dates and venues right on the TV.

By saying “Kelly Clarkson Tour” into the X1 Voice Remote, fans will be taken to a dedicated Kelly Clarkson destination. Customers will see a Get Tickets promotional tile that enables them to review a list of performances and corresponding dates at nearby venues, powered by Ticketmaster’s open platform and API.

Customers can then opt to receive a text message featuring a unique code that will enable them to complete the purchase online.

“Our team is always thinking of new ways to reach more fans by extending Ticketmaster’s open platform,” said Dan Armstrong, senior vice president and general manager, distributed commerce for Ticketmaster.

“This partnership with Comcast is a groundbreaking way to discover events and buy tickets. We’re excited to launch with Kelly Clarkson’s Meaning of Life Tour and look forward to expanding this functionality to even more of the best live events soon.”

Comcast and Ticketmaster will extend this ticketing capability to additional concerts and events on X1. The deal follows a recent partnership between Comcast and Fandango enabling customers with X1 to browse local showtimes and theatres for some of the year’s most popular theatrical releases on their television.
