Botafogo offering cash tickets online

Brazilian football team Botafogo is making ticket buying easier for fans without credit cards after signing up with cash payments platform PinCash.

Through the partnership, fans of the Rio de Janeiro club will be able to purchase tickets through the VoucherSeguro website or mobile phone app and make the payment in cash.

The club said it wanted to offer fans the chance to buy tickets without having to queue up in person. Those who do not have a credit card or don’t want to use one can make payment in cash at one of PinCash’s more than 300,000 accredited points, such as shops and petrol stations.

Botafogo play at the 47,000-capacity Estadio Olimpico Nilton Santos, which hosted the track and field events at the 2016 Olympic Games.

“We are thrilled to be able to bring this benefit and convenience to our fans. We believe that this partnership with PinCash will allow many people who were not able to buy our tickets to have practical and secure access to their ticket, supporting the team in the search for victories inside our stadium,” said Botafogo president Nelson Mufarrej.

Fans must choose ‘cash payment’ on the website and will then receive a pin number with the purchase amount, payment terms and a ‘where to pay’ link to know which accredited location is closest by.

“This service goes beyond our expectations and shows how PinCash is becoming a very convenient service for anyone who wants to make a practical cash payment,” said Greg Descamps, CEO of PinCash.
