Arsenal to freeze ticket prices for Spurs cup game

Ticket prices for Arsenal’s upcoming Carabao Cup quarter-final against North London rival Tottenham Hotspur are set to remain at the usual prices the club offers for the competition.

Arsenal has been drawn to face Tottenham at Emirates Stadium during the week beginning December 17 and there had been suggestions the home team could raise prices for a game that will attract high interest among supporters.

Arsenal defeated Blackpool at home in the previous round, with tickets priced at £20 in the upper tier and £10 in the lower tier – much less than the price of tickets for Premier League matches.

Football.london reported that Arsenal has reached an agreement with Tottenham to offer tickets in line with previous Carabao Cup matches at the Emirates, instead of increasing them due to the high-profile nature of the fixture.

Football.london’s report added that Tottenham’s away allocation for the match is still under discussion. Clubs are usually assigned a 10 per cent away allocation for Carabao Cup matches, which would mean Tottenham is entitled to 6,000 tickets.

However, due to the set-up of Emirates Stadium, such an allocation would prove difficult to manage for Arsenal and talks are taking place with the relevant authorities to find a compromise, with football.london suggesting Tottenham’s allocation will be closer to 5,000.
