USL names Groupmatics as official group sales platform

The United Soccer League, the second tier of US football, has named Groupmatics as its official group ticket sales platform supplier for all related properties.

Under the agreement, Groupmatics will cover the USL Championship, USL League One, USL League Two and the Super Y League.

Groupmatics, headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, is a digital ticketing and event management platform used by professional sports teams and entertainment venues to manage, sell and distribute tickets. The platform, which is flexible across all ticketing systems, also analyses attendee data to provide clients with new revenue opportunities.

“We are excited to announce Groupmatics as the newest member of our Preferred Supplier Program,” said USL president Jake Edwards. “As our league continues to grow, the ability to effectively utilise group ticket sales plays a pivotal role in continuing the rise of our clubs’ average attendances. It will be a pleasure continuing our work with Groupmatics.”

The USL, which launched its first season in 2011, will oversee the expansion of an estimated 30-40 new franchises in the second and third divisions of professional soccer over the next five years.

“The USL understands the benefits of having a strong group sales foundation to drive growth,” said Groupmatics chief executive Matt Mastrangelo. “Our partnership confirms their commitment to providing their clubs with cutting-edge technology that both streamlines the group sales process and provides their fans with the best user experience.”
