MLB London series sells out despite pricing

Tickets for the Major League Baseball London series in 2019 have sold out, despite previous reports of the hugely expensive prices at the London Stadium.

Top-priced seats for the game between the New York Yankees and World Series champion the Boston Red Sox on June 29 and 30 at the former Olympic Stadium cost fans up to £385 ($493/€434). The cost of non-premium seats near the infield will set fans back £320.

Charlie Hill, managing director EMEA, MLB said: “The Mitel & MLB Present London 2019 will be the biggest baseball event of the year. Tickets for the event sold incredibly quickly and it shows there is a big demand for the sport in the UK and Europe.

“The appetite for tickets has been huge and we know that some fans will be disappointed that they didn’t manage to get tickets this time round. In the event that more tickets become available, fans registered with the MLB London Series will be the first to know.

“We are excited for the new season and to play games in London for the first time. We will have a host of events coming up in 2019 and we want to get as many fans and newcomers to engage with the sport. Fans can register at mlb.com/londonseries to hear the latest news first.”
