Indian ticketing platform BookMyShow has launched its ‘Activities’ vertical, allowing fans to buy tickets for a wide variety of planned events.
The ‘Activities’ tab will provide ticketed options relating to food and drinks, nightlife, amusement parks, adventure, gaming and tours, the company said in a statement.
BookMyShow claims to operate in 650 towns and cities in India, with the Activities tab going live in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Goa, Kochi, Vizag, Lucknow, among other unspecified cities.
The new tab on BookMyShow lists within-city and out-of-city options like camping, trekking and scuba-diving.
It also provides ticketing for events such as New Year and Christmas parties, as well as events surrounding Halloween, Holi and other such festivities.
Earlier in the year, BookMyShow said it is looking to push its live events business to bring its revenue level with its current movie ticketing vertical.
With the growing competition in the Indian movie ticketing space, BookMyShow is aiming to boost its non-movie business to half its revenue by 2020-21.
