Weezevent names Goddard UK country manager

French ticketing company Weezevent has appointed Oliver Goddard as head of the company’s London office.

Weezevent is an NFC-based cashless payments and ticketing provider, which continues to drive its international expansion and is currently based in Spain, France, Switzerland the UK and Canada.

Goddard previously worked as the head of ticketing and festival for the Global Festival/Broadwick Live. He has also been involved in the V Festival team for upwards of 10 years.

Earlier in his career, he helped to develop the strategic direction of the Metropolitan Music box office, where he worked with top artists such as Coldplay, Eminem and Oasis.

The newly-appointed country manager for the UK will oversee Weezevent’s expansion into the British festival market. The firm launched in the UK and Ireland in March 2017.

Goddard said, according to Magestion Billetterie: “I am very happy to join the Weezevent adventure and work in this innovative venture to boost the UK festival scene. The dematerialised payment is a technology more and more present in our everyday life, from the payment in the subway to the purchase of a sandwich, and that continues to grow.

Our NFC technology improves the customer experience, saves time and money for the organisers and gives them access to a management tools and essential data.
