The city of San Antonio is looking for companies that will support its automated ticketing initiative for events at several of its local venues.
The Alamodome, the Carver Community Cultural Center and the Lila Cockrell Theatre at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center are the venues that will install the new ticketing system.
The proposal reads: “The selected Respondent shall be responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance plus support of all software, as well as providing all equipment and service requirements necessary to support all ticketed events and related ticketing functions at the Facilities.”
The 64,000-seat Alamodome has sold more than 3.7 million tickets for its events over the past year.
The city has requested the new system includes hardware and software that can print and scan tickets for attendees. Its goal is to allow customers to see available seats online and process credit card transactions through Chase Paymentech and will facilitate selling tickets through stand-alone kiosks.
The bidding process includes a local preference programme that could give extra points for San Antonio-based companies.
The contract of the deal would involve a revenue-sharing model with the city of San Antonio.
