Sinemia launches direct movie ticketing service

Sinemia has announced the launch of an online and mobile direct movie ticketing service.

Members of the public will now be able to buy tickets directly from more than 400 cinemas across the United States via the Sinemia.com website and the Sinemia mobile app.

Sinemia is a subscription service, but non-subscribers will be able to purchase tickets, the company said.

The platform has partnerships with more than 40 movie theatre chains, with more locations set to be added to the service following the launch, Sinemia added. The company has existing partnerships with the likes of B&B Theatres, Emagine Entertainment and New Vision Theatres.

Sinemia Social, the company’s movie content platform that publishes movie and celebrity news, attracts more than two million unique visitors every month, and the company is keen to expand its reach to a broader audience.

Sinemia is working with movie theatres to start their own subscription services with Sinemia Enterprise, which is already used by more than 10 chains, including National Amusements and Studio Movie Grill.

“While our customers are pleased that we are the only subscription service that continues to provide advance tickets to any movie for any showtime at any movie theatre, we are constantly seeking to improve,” Sinemia CEO and founder Rifat Oguz said.

“Our mission is to include every movie theatre in the world with our direct ticketing service, so that we can eventually serve every moviegoer globally.”

Sinemia’s movie ticket subscriptions start at $12.99 (£9.99/€11) per month, covering up to three visits to the cinema.

The company also offers a ‘Plus’ package that adds 3D, IMAX, and 4DX movies to the subscription.
