Atom Tickets launches film festival ticketing service

Atom Tickets has launched a new service aimed at North American film festivals allowing users to reserve seats in advance at designated host venues.

The Dallas International Film Festival (DIFF) is the first partner to use the new service, which is expecting to process more than 100,000 tickets. The event, which is running from April 11-18, will include DIFF’s screenings, outdoor concerts and festival-related activities.

“Festivals are an important part of the movie ecosystem and they offer audiences the opportunity to see movies where they are best experienced – in the theatre,” said Steve Joudi, head of exhibitor relations and operations, Atom Tickets. “We are proud to be able to include film festivals into our family of exhibition partners and thrilled to debut our new service with the Dallas International Film Festival.”

Johnathan Brownlee, chief executive and president of Dallas Film and executive director of Dallas International Film Festival, said: “We are always looking for ways to enhance our festival goers’ experience. As we have grown over the years, we have developed a solid foundation for producing exceptional programming and created a signature filmmaker experience.

“When we asked ourselves, ‘WHAT NEXT?’ we looked at the current market for film and saw tremendous growth in the popularity of reserved seating. No other film festival has given their patrons the opportunity to choose their seats for every screening, and we are pleased to offer this perk to those attending DIFF 2019. We will even be able to section off seats for Star Pass holders. Atom is a cutting-edge partner and we are thrilled to work with them to bring this vision to life.”
