Live Nation surpasses one million donations to Vet Tix

Live Nation has provided more than one million tickets to veterans and their families via its partnership with the Veteran Tickets Foundation, Vet Tix.

Vet Tix is a national nonprofit founded in 2008, which gifts free tickets to concerts, sporting events and other activities to currently serving military and all veterans.

The live entertainment giant has donated more than $75m (£57m/€66m) worth of tickets since 2014.

“Live Nation is incredibly proud to be a partner of Vet Tix, and we’re honoured to have helped over one million service members and their families create lifelong memories together at our concerts and events,” said Michael Rapino, chief executive and president of Live Nation Entertainment.

“We know how powerful live music can be, and will continue doing everything we can to share those experiences with our veterans who have given so much.”

In June 2018, Ticketmaster launched a custom ticketing software to update the nonprofit’s platform. The ticketing giant committed to a partnership providing a real-time feed of live event tickets to their 780,000 veterans of all eras, current service members including Guard and Reserves, immediate family members of those killed in action, and caretakers of VetTixers.

“The support and passion for the Vet Tix mission by the Live Nation and Ticketmaster teams has been vital to our success,” said Vet Tix chief executive and founder Mike Focareto.

“The one million tickets donated by Live Nation translates into endless smiles and memories for VetTixers. In many cases, their support also assists veterans, service members and first responders in coping with their post-traumatic stress challenges which leads to positive experiences by attending concerts with family and friends. We can’t thank them enough.”
