Juventus women break attendance record

A new attendance record has been set for women’s football in Italy after 39,027 fans turned out to watch Juventus defeat Fiorentina 1-0 at Allianz Stadium yesterday (Sunday).

Tickets for the match were free and the attendance smashed the previous record of 14,000 for an Italian women’s league game.

The home team claimed all three points with Sofie Junge Pedersen scoring the winning goal in the 84th minute. The win pushed Juventus four points clear of Fiorentina at the top of the table.
