AMC Stubs hits 19 million member households

AMC Theatres’ movie subscription service has continued to grow rapidly and has reached more than 19 million member households in the US.

With the US average of 2.6 people per household in mind, that equates to almost 50 million people using the AMC Stubs plan.

AMC Stubs is offered in three tiers, which are the A-List,  Premiere and Insider. A-List and Premiere members earn points equivalent to a 10 per cent discount at the box office and concession stand, free size upgrades on popcorn and soda, priority lines, and no online ticketing fees.

Insider, which is free to join, also offers Discount Tuesday savings, free refills on large popcorns, and a birthday gift for members. Users also earn a $5 reward to be used at the concession stand for spending money at the box office and on food and drinks.

In January, AMC’s cinema subscription service hit 700,000 subscribers for its $19.95-a-month package, allowing users to see three films per week.

AMC Stubs A-List projected in June that it would hit 500,000 subscribers by the end of its first year, which it surpassed by 200,000.
