Major League Baseball franchise the Kansas City Royals has launched a new season ticket package and corresponding fan section at Kauffman Stadium called The Keep.

The package includes tickets to 15 games, mostly on weekends and for popular opponents and costs $500 (£380/€444).

“We want this section to be about representing your Royals fandom and bringing that enthusiasm and that energy and that electricity to each and every game they’re at this year,” said Amanda Turk, the Royals’ director of publicity.

Members of The Keep will have access to a tailgate before each game with free beer and will also receive a box of “keepsakes.”

All items in the box, including a Charlie Hustle shirt, a cap, a pair of socks, and sunglasses, will be made in Kansas City and are not sold in shops.

The Royals said: “The Keep at Kauffman Stadium is the first ever fan focused, fan driven, fan section at The K. The Keep is a place for fans that are not only passionate about the Royals, but equally passionate about their Kansas City community and possibly their epic tailgating.”
