Fortnite World Cup signs up Verified Fan

Gamers from around the world are set to flock to Ticketmaster’s Verified Fan platform after it won the rights to sell tickets to the first-ever Fortnite World Cup.

The event, featuring the world’s most popular online video game, will take place at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City in July.

Organisers said pre-registration is now available via Verified Fan, with fans able to enter their information so that when tickets go on-sale they will be among the first to be notified.

“The Ticketmaster Verified Fan programme helps us to remove scalpers and bots from the ticketing process to better ensure more Fortnite fans can attend,” said a spokesperson for Epic Games, the developers of Fortnite.

All ticketed fans who attend the three-day event will receive perks such as V-Bucks and a Season 10 Battle Pass.

Endeavor is overseeing operations and logistics for the event on the heels of the Fortnite E3 Pro-Am in Los Angeles last June, which was the highest viewed western esports tournament with over two million concurrent viewers across seven online platforms and 30 different channels.
