TicketCo, a Norwegian event payments and ticketing platform, is due to open offices in Poland and Sweden, continuing its European growth.
The company has confirmed a five-year partnership with Polish football club Legia Warsaw, which follows an agreement signed with Polish sport events organiser SpeedWayEvents.
Under the Legia Warsaw partnership, the ticketing firm will provide the Ekstraklasa club with access to real-time sales data on match days, as well as streamlining the stadium entrance process.
TicketCo’s country manager in Poland, Tomasz Kowalski, said: “The club has given us lots of demanding tasks, which we will fulfil. The TicketCo platform is helping change the way people experience live sports events, focusing on convenience and modernity via smartphones.
“All of us permanently use smartphones for making photos, ordering taxis or food. Why shouldn’t we use it to pay for everything we need during a big sports or music event?”
TicketCo, which launched in the UK last year, also works with football clubs such as Kilmarnock, Solihull Moors, Woking, Eastleigh and Oxford City.
“As part of our strategy to expand the TicketCo product across Europe, we have opened offices in two more countries, where we see real growth opportunity,” said Carl-Erik Michalsen Moberg, co-founder of TicketCo.
“Poland and Sweden are both countries with a vibrant event industry and we’re already making great progress in both. We believe we’ve designed the perfect sales tool for event organisers and are committed to taking it into more territories.”
The company’s mobile platform assigns each fan a QR code as their event ticket. It also enables organisers to promote offers on food, drink and merchandise in advance of events.
