More Cricket World Cup tickets to go on sale

Additional tickets for the 2019 Cricket World Cup will go back on sale across all teams and venues on a first-come, first-served basis tomorrow (Thursday).

The 2019 Cricket World Cup is taking place from May 30 to July 14 across England and Wales.

Restricted view tickets will also be available for purchase at 20 per cent discounted price for adults and further discounts for under 16s across each stage of the tournament.

Fans who can no longer attend can now access the Official Resale Platform to return match tickets and sell to other fans at face value.

More than 14,000 tickets have been put on the site and 13,500 sold during its first phase of operation. Ticket buyers have been warned to only buy tickets from official ticket sellers for the tournament.

The International Cricket Council said in a release: “Tournament organisers are continually monitoring illegal ticket resale activity and are actively cancelling tickets offered for sale on unofficial third-party websites by individuals and companies.”

Earlier this year, organisers of the 2019 Cricket World Cup said they were prepared to take legal action against Viagogo and StubHub, with some tickets being sold for 104 times their face value.
