Ex-NFL player sued by broker over Super Bowl tickets

Rodney Peete, a former NFL American football player, has been sued for allegedly owing a Super Bowl ticket broker thousands of dollars.

The former Philadelphia Eagles player purchased eight tickets to the championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in February this year for a discounted price of $11,500 (£8,800/€10,300) per ticket through Barry’s Tickets, according to TMZ.

The broker had supposedly told Peete that the cost would increase to $12,500 per ticket if he waited to pay after the game, which he reportedly agreed to.

Having only paid for half of the cost of the tickets before the game, Peete ignored and eventually ‘ghosted’ the broker in late February.

Barry’s Tickets has moved to sue Peete for $54,000 for the cost of the tickets plus interest and legal fees.
