The cheapest tiered tickets for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s West End show of Fleabag sold out within an hour of going on sale.
A quarter of tickets were listed at £25 (€29/$33) or less, and flew off the shelves in under an hour.
Several fans reportedly spent up to three hours in an online queue to find the only remaining tickets were either £127.50 and £152.50 for the one-hour, one-woman show.
Fleabag, which used to cost fans £10 for a ticket before the TV adaptation turned it into a major success, will run at Wyndham’s Theatre from August 20 to September 14, following a sold-out run on Broadway.
Thirty-three tickets for the front row and boxes will be made available each day through an on-the-day lottery at £20 each. An additional 33 standing tickets per performance will be available each day for £10 on a first come, first served basis.
