Live Nation has acquired leading Polish concert and club promoter Go Ahead in a move that will see it open a new regional office in the country.
Go Ahead, which has worked with acts such as Wolf Alice, Khalid, George Ezra and Florence + the Machine, was founded in 2005 by Łukasz Minta and Andrzej Jegliczka and is based in Poznan.
Following the acquisition, Live Nation Poland will maintain a regional office in the city, as well as the company’s primary office in Warsaw.
“We are excited to welcome Łukasz and his team to Live Nation,” said Steven Todd, managing director of Live Nation Central & Eastern Europe. “Go Ahead has brought many international artists to Poland over the years and we are confident about what we can achieve together in this new era for us.”
The acquisition is the latest expansion for Live Nation, which so far this year has also invested in Singapore promoter One Production and Canada’s Embrace Presents.
Go Ahead also organises Spring Break, an annual three-day music showcase festival and conference in Poznan, which is aimed at promoting Polish musical artists on the international stage.
“We have enjoyed many successes over the last few years,” said Go Ahead co-founder Minta.
“I’m particularly proud of Spring Break which has become a real platform for local artists, and a key date in the musical diary for Poland.
We look forward to being a part of Live Nation, and hope that the combination of our team and the Live Nation infrastructure will keep the Polish audiences entertained for years to come.”
