Lima 2019 hits ticketing milestone as Opening Ceremony sells out

More than 100,000 tickets have been shifted so far for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru after going on sale late last month.

The competition, which will be held between July 24 and August 11, has sold out of tickets for the Opening Ceremony and several of the finals events.

Prices for preliminary competition rounds will start at 20 Soles ($6/£4.74/€5.36), with finals starting at 30 Soles, and with 50 per cent discounts for under-18s, seniors and people with a disability.

Tickets can be bought in ten Lima 2019-authorised points of sale around the city, including in the Chorrillos and Independencia districts.

Fans are able to pick up passes for the multi-sport event at every competition venue throughout the Games. Teleticket and Ticketmaster, the two ticketing partners of the Pan American Games, have been supporting the process.

The Lima 2019 Pan American Games will gather 6,680 athletes from 41 countries and delegations from the Americas. The Games will include 39 sports and 61 disciplines, in which athletes will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. 22 disciplines will be qualifiers for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
