Groupon expands ticket offering in Spain with Ticketmaster

E-commerce marketplace Groupon has signed a partnership deal with Ticketmaster to give users in Spain access to direct ticketing purchase services.

The agreement provides access to Ticketmaster’s exclusive sales events for Groupon’s more than 5.5 million users in Spain.

Groupon’s manager in Spain, Luis Sabatés, said the deal will further expand its leisure offering with access through its platform to Ticketmaster events.

He added: “At Groupon, in addition to supporting small and medium-sized companies, we always seek alliances with the large corporations that allow us to continue providing the best service and offer a wide range of activities to our users.”

Ticketmaster’s director in Spain, Eugeni Calsamiglia, said: “Ticketmaster works constantly to develop the best technology that facilitates the transaction quickly and effectively to the fans and is the ticketing company that offers greater security in the process of buying tickets.

“We are very pleased to incorporate Groupon as an affiliate company, as it will allow us to reach a complementary audience to our usual audience.”

In April, the e-commerce site outlined its plans for growth in the ticketing and live events sector after partnering in the UK with ticket distributor Ingresso.
