K-pop boy band BTS shifted 384,498 tickets across only eight shows in May, marking the biggest one-month total of 2019 so far.
The South Korean superstars brought in $51.7m from shows in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Sao Paolo, according to Billboard Boxscore figures.
The band performed two shows at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, as well as another two at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, and Soldier Field in Chicago. The six US shows brought in $44m and sold almost 300,000 tickets.
The two performances at the Rose Bowl brought in $16.6m and sold 113,040 tickets, making it the single highest-grossing event in the venue’s Boxscore history.
Later in the month, BTS travelled to Brazil for a double header at Sao Paolo’s Allianz Parque. The stop-off sold 84,812 tickets and grossed $7.7m.
