Festicket becomes Coachella’s UK and Europe partner

Coachella is seeking a boost in international sales after appointing Festicket as its partner in the UK and Europe.

The celebrated California music and arts festival – which attracts around 250,000 visitors – will next be held in April 2020. Festicket said it has already sold to fans in 49 different countries worldwide since tickets went live in June.

Festicket, which works with 2,000 events worldwide, said it will provide extra local booking services in the UK and Europe. It will also offer support in eight languages and many more currencies alongside promoting a range of ticket options.

The partnership was welcomed by Festicket chief executive Zack Sabban who was inspired to found the company in 2012 after organising a trip to Coachella with a group of friends in Europe.

“Coachella has built itself an unparalleled reputation worldwide as the ultimate festival experience,” Sabban (pictured) said.

“We’ve noted a massive increase interest in the festival from fans outside the US over the past few years. Iconic performances over the years – like Beyoncé’s Homecoming in 2018, Tupac joining by hologram in 2012, and Daft Punk’s seminal light show in 2007 –  have contributed to the image of Coachella as a bucket list-type festival, but I also think it has a lot to do with people wanting to travel somewhere beautiful and experience something unforgettable.

“We created Festicket to help people plan their trips to destination festivals exactly like Coachella, so it’s amazing to be extending our relationship with the Coachella team at Goldenvoice. Our work so far with Coachella has had an amazing response from our international community of festival fans.

“Now we’ll be focusing on making the experience the best it can be for every fan – from discovery, to booking, to accommodation, to the event itself.”

Held annually at the Empire Polo Club in the Southern California desert, the Coachella festival in 2019 was headlined by Childish Gambino, Tame Impala and Ariana Grande.
